Junior Design and Development Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Junior Design and Development Engineer to join our team in Alberton, Johannesburg. You will provide technical and administrative support to our design and development activities, helping to deliver high‑quality glass and sliding window solutions for the commercial vehicle market.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the design, fabrication, testing and implementation of new products.
• Support reverse‑engineering projects to ensure product availability for launch.
• Maintain and update customer timing plans and share progress with project stakeholders.
• Create, store and keep up‑to‑date all product and process documentation.
• Identify and implement product and process improvements to reduce costs and increase efficiency.
• Communicate relevant information effectively to support decision‑making.

Required profile

• Grade 12 and a National Diploma in Engineering or equivalent.
• 1‑2 years of experience in design and development.
• Working knowledge of engineering principles, metrology and systematic problem‑solving in a production environment.
• Understanding of engineering project management as a team member.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD software and CAD modelling.
• Strong MS Office skills.
• Knowledge of engineering design principles and metrology.
