Junior Accountant – Automotive Dealership

About the role

The Junior Accountant will support the finance team at Halfway Toyota George by handling day‑to‑day financial administration and ensuring accurate recording of all dealership transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with reconciliation of new and used vehicle stock accounts.
• Verify vehicle‑related invoices, purchase costs and supporting documentation.
• Reconcile vehicle purchases, trade‑ins, settlements and related transactions.
• Reconcile vehicle floorplan and financing accounts where applicable.
• Assist with reconciliation of vehicle deposits, customer receipts and outstanding balances.
• Verify invoices and payments for accessories, fitment centres, workshop repairs and parts purchases.
• Support investigation of discrepancies between dealership management systems and the general ledger.

Required profile

• National Diploma or BCom in Accounting, Financial Accounting or related field.
• 1‑2 years of accounting or finance experience, preferably in a motor dealership.
• Basic knowledge of accounting principles, VAT and financial controls.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with general accounting software.
• Familiarity with a dealership management system (advantageous).
