Group Deputy Chief Financial Officer (Fixed-term)

About the role

The Group Deputy Chief Financial Officer will report to the Group CFO and support the financial management of the GGDA group of companies. The role involves overseeing finance operations, consolidating financial statements and ensuring compliance with audit and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Manage finance operations and develop financial reporting systems across the group.
• Support the Group CFO in consolidating annual financial statements, performance reporting and budget planning.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports in line with the financial calendar.
• Oversee revenue, expenditure, payroll, ledger maintenance and data entry processes.
• Coordinate audit preparation, resolve audit queries and ensure compliance with internal and external audit standards.
• Monitor and report on budget performance, financial commitments, exposures and risks.
• Assist in developing standardised finance processes, controls and systems for all subsidiaries.
• Ensure all activities comply with the Public Finance Management Act, GGDA policies and ethical standards.

Required profile

• BCom accounting degree, Chartered Accountant qualification or postgraduate finance/business qualification.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in accounting or finance.
• Knowledge of the Public Finance Management Act, Treasury Regulations and Generally Accepted Accounting Practices.
• Familiarity with Auditor General requirements, state procurement policies and auditing standards.
• Ability to analyse data, identify trends and assess strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats.
