Signature Relationship Manager - Private Banking

About the role

Liberty, a prominent financial services provider in South Africa, is looking for a Signature Relationship Manager in Paarl, Western Cape. The role suits someone with strong commercial acumen who can build and maintain relationships with high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients in Liberty's Private Banking segment. As the main point of contact for a select portfolio, you will grow, retain and deepen client relationships through a personalised, high-touch banking experience, covering lending, investments, advisory and financial planning.

Key responsibilities

• Build, manage and retain relationships with high-value and ultra-high-net-worth clients through regular, value-adding engagement and diligent portfolio management.
• Analyse clients' financial information, understand their objectives and needs, and recommend banking, lending, investment, insurance and advisory solutions.
• Grow the client portfolio by acquiring new Signature clients and deepening existing ones, working with internal specialists to offer comprehensive solutions.
• Structure and motivate credit applications, including complex lending, with thorough due diligence and effective credit risk management.
• Maintain and increase client balances and wallet share through competitive pricing, tailored propositions and proactive stakeholder engagement.
• Ensure all client interactions, advice, instructions, documentation and portfolio activities comply with the FAIS Act, compliance mandates and regulatory guidelines.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or Advanced Diploma (FAIS-aligned NQF7 or higher) in Business Commerce, Finance, Banking or Economics.
• Proven compliance with FAIS Fit and Proper requirements.
• 5 to 7 years of experience in relationship banking, private banking, affluent banking or a similar client portfolio management environment.
• Demonstrated experience managing high-value or ultra-high-net-worth clients and growing and retaining client portfolios while meeting revenue targets.

Required skills

• Solid understanding of credit structuring, client financial analysis, risk management and compliance regulations.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders across business areas.
