About the role
This is a capacity‑building internship funded by the National Treasury to develop financial capacity within municipal finance. Graduates will gain exposure to various municipal finance functions and support the implementation of accounting and budget reforms.
Key responsibilities
- Assist with the implementation of accepted municipal accounting practice and budget reform.
- Participate in training on financial and supply‑chain processes.
- Perform reconciliations and financial analysis.
- Collect financial data electronically.
Required profile
- Three‑year Bachelor’s degree or National Diploma in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Internal Audit or Risk Management.
- Computer literacy (MS Office package).
- Proficiency in at least two official Northern Cape languages (Afrikaans, English, Xhosa) – reading, writing and speaking.
- Age between 18 and 35 years.
- Strong attention to detail, responsibility and reporting skills.
- Basic knowledge of monthly reconciliations and experience with financial and supply‑chain processes.

What we offer
- Annual all‑inclusive salary of R100 000.
