Electromechanical Fitter

About the role

We are looking for a skilled Electromechanical Fitter to support production by maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical and electrical equipment. The role focuses on minimising downtime, ensuring equipment reliability, and upholding high safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventative maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and automated production equipment.
• Diagnose and repair faults on motors, gearboxes, pumps, PLCs, control panels, and production lines.
• Assist with installation, upgrades, and commissioning of new equipment and systems.
• Conduct diagnostic, electrical, and performance tests using appropriate tools and instruments.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, parts used, and job cards.
• Comply with workplace health, safety, and food‑safety requirements, including proper PPE use.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement to reduce downtime and boost reliability.

Required profile

• Qualified Electromechanical, Mechanical, Electrical Fitter, Electrician, or Mechatronics Technician with a recognised Trade Test Certificate.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a production, manufacturing, plant, or industrial maintenance environment.
• Proficient with hand tools, power tools, metalworking equipment, and electrical testing instruments.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, mechanical components, fault finding, and preventative maintenance.
• Experience with PLC systems, including fault finding and basic programming support.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, electrical diagrams, and schematics.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and standby duties as required.
• Own reliable transport.
