Electrician – Automotive Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a qualified electrician with a strong background in the automotive sector to join our team in Umhlanga Rocks. The successful candidate will work on a variety of electrical systems, supporting both routine maintenance and advanced automation projects.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain and troubleshoot electrical installations on automotive equipment.
• Work with programmable logic controllers (PLC) and robotic systems to ensure optimal performance.
• Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance to minimise downtime.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to implement electrical solutions.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience as an electrician in the automotive industry.
• Formal qualification equivalent to N4 Electrical Engineering.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.

Required skills

• PLC programming and troubleshooting.
• Robotics integration and maintenance.
• N4 Electrical Engineering knowledge.
