Distribution Controller-1

About the role

The Distribution Controller-1 will lead the Driver Sales team to ensure timely, full deliveries and efficient product distribution across the market. You will drive route optimisation, manage stock on trucks, and uphold compliance with Tiger Brands policies and relevant legislation.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the Driver Sales team to meet agreed delivery schedules, volumes and full‑order fulfilment.
• Implement and continuously improve route optimisation models and systems.
• Conduct daily driver debriefs, monitor performance metrics and report distribution results.
• Oversee returns, stock on trucks, departure times and crate movements to maximise recovery.
• Ensure governance and compliance with legislation and Tiger Brands policies, applying remedial actions where needed.
• Control weekly wages, manage leave rosters, crew attendance, training, development and disciplinary actions.
• Lead risk management initiatives, including defensive‑driving training and risk escalation.
• Standardise induction for new driver sales staff and van assistants, covering job profiles and required paperwork.
• Prepare accurate, timely reports using approved templates in line with statutory requirements.

Required profile

• Diploma in Logistics (NQF Level 6).
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in FMCG distribution or logistics.
• Ability to work within Tiger Brands’ employment equity framework.
