Dispatch Assistant / Driver

About the role

The Dispatch Assistant / Driver supports daily dispatch operations, ensuring goods are collected and delivered safely and on time. The role combines warehouse duties with on‑road delivery, requiring attention to detail and a focus on customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with planning and coordinating daily dispatch activities.
• Pick, pack, check, and prepare customer orders for dispatch.
• Load and unload goods safely and securely.
• Deliver and collect goods according to scheduled routes.
• Obtain proof of delivery (POD) and submit completed documentation.
• Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report any faults or maintenance requirements.
• Maintain the cleanliness and roadworthiness of the company vehicle.
• Verify stock and delivery documentation before leaving the warehouse.
• Assist with stock control and report any shortages or damaged items.
• Track deliveries and communicate any delays or issues to the dispatch team.
• Ensure compliance with road traffic regulations and company policies.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe dispatch area.
• Support general warehouse and dispatch duties when not on deliveries.
