Diesel Technician – Field & Workshop Service for Yellow Equipment

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Diesel Technician to provide field and workshop service for yellow earthmoving equipment. The role involves diagnosing, repairing and maintaining a range of construction and mining plant machinery, ensuring high safety and workmanship standards.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair and maintain excavators, dozers, loaders, graders and articulated dump trucks.
• Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and servicing.
• Perform field breakdown support and emergency repairs on customer sites.
• Interpret technical manuals and OEM specifications to complete accurate job cards.
• Commission, test and report on repaired equipment.
• Support workshop operations and maintain detailed service documentation.

Required profile

• Grade 12 (Matric) qualification.
• Trade‑tested Diesel Mechanic or Earthmoving Technician.
• 3–5 years of experience with yellow plant/equipment.
• Valid driver’s licence and ability to travel for field service.
• Local residency in Ermelo or willingness to relocate.
