Customer Assistant – Foods Retail

About the role

Join Woolworths as a Customer Assistant in the Foods department at the Mount Edgecombe store. You will help create a welcoming shopping environment while ensuring food safety, hygiene and stock standards are met.

Key responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers, providing product information and promoting promotions.
• Maintain stock levels through accurate replenishment, rotation and cold‑chain management.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards, isolating damaged goods and handling returns.
• Follow shop‑keeping disciplines such as planograms, gap policies and department cleanliness.
• Report and help minimise shrinkage by following security and red‑flag procedures.

Required profile

• Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
• Basic computer literacy for digital tasks.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including early mornings and weekends.
• Strong communication, punctuality and teamwork.
• Attention to detail for stock management and quality control.
