CIMA Associate – Trainee/Junior Accountant

About the role

The Finance Team for SMEs at Creative CFO is seeking a CIMA Associate (Trainee/Junior Accountant) to support a portfolio of small and medium enterprises across a wide range of sectors. You will help deliver compliance, efficiency and growth by working on financial systems, management and business intelligence initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and configure cloud‑based financial software for client businesses.
• Assist in establishing governance structures and managing business risk.
• Monitor, analyse and optimise financial performance through regular reporting.
• Prepare and review financial statements, journal entries and reconciliations.
• Collaborate with senior accountants and client teams to ensure accurate and timely deliverables.

Required profile

• Current CIMA qualification or actively pursuing it.
• Strong interest in SME finance and a keen analytical mindset.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced team environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Xero cloud accounting platform.
• Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
• Familiarity with cloud‑based financial systems.
