Accounting Clerk – Processing (Bloemfontein)

About the role

The Accounting Clerk will be responsible for processing accounts up to trial balance, handling bookkeeping, debtor and creditor transactions, tax and payroll administration, and supporting financial reporting and general administration tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Capture and process source documents using accounting software and reconcile cashbooks.
• Process monthly accounting transactions, allocate them to the correct general ledger accounts, and ensure timely financial information.
• Handle debtor and creditor transactions, capture supplier invoices, and reconcile bank, supplier and customer accounts.
• Assist with payroll administration, prepare EMP201 and VAT201 returns, and process SARS eFiling submissions.
• Prepare financial reports, spreadsheets and support month‑end and year‑end procedures.
• Maintain electronic filing, process petty cash and employee expense claims, and provide general accounting support.

Required profile

• Good communication skills in both Afrikaans and English.
• Experience processing accounts up to trial balance, preferably in an accounting practice.
• Proficiency with Sage and/or Winfin (or similar accounting software).
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills and overall computer literacy.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure.
