SAICA Graduate Programme - Feb 2027

About the role

SNG Grant Thornton is recruiting first-year trainee accountants for its Assurance division in Bloemfontein. You would start a training contract in 2027 and work towards the SAICA competencies needed to register as a Chartered Accountant (CA). The programme is open to graduates who have completed, or are close to completing, an Honours-level accounting qualification.

Key responsibilities

• Complete a training contract that builds general accounting and assurance skills across many industries.
• Work on real client engagements and take part in client and management discussions.
• Work with clients ranging from listed companies to small, owner-run start-ups.
• Raise questions with managers and partners, who keep an open-door approach.
• Learn from a mentor who guides your development through the training contract.
• Build the competencies needed for SAICA registration while working through the audit team.

Required profile

• Honours, PGDA or CTA qualification, or an equivalent, from a SAICA-recognised university.
• Strong technical ability and a high level of attention to detail.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills, sound professional judgement and strong organisational skills.
• Ability to work well in diverse teams and to build good relationships with clients.
• A real willingness to learn and a commitment to personal growth.
