Senior Vice President, Real Estate Finance, Investment Banking

About the role

Liberty, a leading South African financial services firm, is seeking a seasoned professional to lead its Real Estate Finance (REF) initiatives within Investment Banking. Based in Johannesburg, the Senior Vice President will drive growth of real‑estate finance solutions for a diverse client base, from core customers to franchise‑building entities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead negotiations for both standard and structured debt solutions in the real‑estate sector.
• Coordinate internal and external stakeholders to finalise contractual requirements, commercial terms, and closing procedures.
• Drive commercial targets, optimise shareholder returns and enhance Investment Banking revenue.
• Conduct in‑depth research and provide insights to define client segments and support continuous improvement.
• Manage and deliver against assigned deal revenue targets and report financial performance against budget.

Required profile

• 8‑10 years of experience originating and executing real‑estate finance solutions.
• Proven ability to act as a trusted advisor to C‑suite executives and boards.
• Advanced experience within the property sector.
• 8‑10 years of experience developing learning and development initiatives, coaching and mentoring teams.
• Deep understanding of risk management practices and regulatory frameworks in Corporate & Investment Banking.
• First‑degree in Business Commerce, Finance or Accounting.
