Senior Real Estate Finance Project Manager – Valuations & Credit Risk

About the role

Liberty is seeking a senior professional to join its Corporate and Investment Banking division in Johannesburg. The role focuses on managing and mitigating risks across the real‑estate finance portfolio, providing independent assessment of development feasibility, valuations and funding structures.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive risk assessments covering development feasibility, construction costs, timelines and statutory approvals.
• Oversee independent property valuations to ensure accuracy and market alignment.
• Monitor project progress, identify deviations, and report on key milestones.
• Perform due‑diligence on contractual arrangements, approvals and the competency of professional teams.
• Analyse funding requirements and structures to manage financial risk.
• Prepare clear, concise reports for credit and investment decision‑makers.
• Provide expert advisory services on technical, development and valuation matters.

Required profile

• First‑degree qualification in Property Studies, Civil Engineering, Construction Management or Quantity Surveying.
• Minimum 10 years of construction project management experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and MS Project.
• Familiarity with shared‑drive document management systems.
• Demonstrated competencies in development risk assessment, project monitoring, construction cost management and property valuation.
