Tax Compliance Officer – Wynberg, Cape Town (R20k‑R27k CTC)

About the role

We are looking for a Tax Compliance Officer to manage a portfolio of roughly 300 clients in a back‑office capacity. The role focuses on accurate preparation, timely submission and diligent SARS query management for individuals, trusts, corporate entities and NPOs. You will work from our Foreshore office in Cape Town, ensuring statutory deadlines are met.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and lodge Income Tax, Provisional Tax, Dividend Withholding Tax returns and donation declarations for a diverse client base.
• Handle SARS registrations and deregistrations for Income Tax, VAT and PAYE, manage eFiling profiles and resolve queries, verifications and audit requests.
• Draft statements of assets and liabilities, perform capital reconciliations and complex tax computations for high‑net‑worth individuals and corporations.
• Collect supporting documentation, obtain client signatures and ensure all statutory submission deadlines are strictly adhered to.
• Calculate third‑period and additional top‑up tax payments when required.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of proven tax compliance experience, preferably within a tax or accounting practice.
• Undergraduate Diploma in Taxation or an equivalent qualification in Accounting/Finance.
• In‑depth knowledge of South African Income Tax laws and SARS compliance processes across all client types.
• High numerical accuracy, strong attention to detail and excellent time‑management skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
• Experience with specialised tax management software.
• Familiarity with the Konsise platform (advantageous).
