Sales Assistant

About the role

The engineering solutions company in Randburg is seeking a Sales Assistant to support the sales team. You will be the first point of contact for customers, handling enquiries and ensuring smooth documentation flow.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, log, filter and route incoming sales enquiries via telephone, email and WhatsApp.
• Act as the first point of contact for customer queries and provide timely responses.
• Support sales documentation flow, including quotations, work orders and sales orders.
• Track, file and distribute sales documentation accurately and promptly.
• Assist in preparing basic quotations (manual and SYSPRO) after training.
• Allocate and manage quote numbers and maintain accurate status tracking.
• Assist with creation and tracking of work orders and sales schedules.
• Process basic sales orders on SYSPRO once trained.
• Follow up on outstanding quotations and work orders.
• Liaise with Stores regarding deliveries and customer collections.
• Facilitate communication between Sales, Engineering, Workshop and Operations teams.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) qualification.
• At least one year of experience in administration, sales support or customer service.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
• Professional telephone and email etiquette.
• Valid driver’s licence and own reliable vehicle.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Willingness to learn and use the SYSPRO ERP system.
