Assistant Store Manager – Retail (Johannesburg North)

About the role

iStore, Africa’s largest Apple Premium Reseller, is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support the Johannesburg North store. You will work closely with the Store Manager to drive performance, deliver an Apple‑inspired customer experience, and develop a high‑performing retail team.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Store Manager in leading and motivating a team of 10+ staff to meet sales targets and KPIs.
• Deliver exceptional Apple‑focused customer service and ensure the store is the go‑to destination for Apple products.
• Assist with daily operations including stock management, merchandising, and maintaining store standards.
• Coach and develop team members through feedback, training, and performance management.
• Monitor store performance and help implement strategies to improve sales and customer engagement.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and operational processes.
• Foster a collaborative team culture and support staff productivity, engagement, and retention.
• Provide flexibility to float to other iStore locations when required.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) required; tertiary qualification in Business, Retail Management or related field advantageous.
• 3+ years’ experience managing or supervising retail sales teams of 10+ staff.
• Experience in high‑value retail environments with strong retail operations knowledge.
• Proven leadership, people‑management and matrix‑management capabilities.
• Strong customer‑service orientation and passion for technology.
• Positive attitude, willingness to learn and ability to inspire others.
