Operations Agent – Air Ops

About the role

The Operations Agent – Air Ops is responsible for the efficient clearance of inbound and outbound shipments at the Johannesburg Gateway hub. You will ensure that all cargo is processed, documented, and dispatched in line with global SOPs and security standards.

Key responsibilities

• Process and shelve inventory accurately, preparing export documentation for smooth network movement.
• Clear inbound material within 45 minutes of aircraft arrival and verify cargo against pre‑alerts.
• Label and shelve high‑ and low‑value shipments, update SIS, and conduct daily store and inventory checks.
• Monitor bonded shipments, move items older than 14 days to the state warehouse, and report discrepancies.
• Coordinate multi‑shelf shipments, provide store‑check feedback, and ensure timely dispatch according to destination codes.
• Scan, route, and lodge shipments (international, WPX, NCY, COY) with correct destination codes and CIA requirements.
• Perform daily bond reconciliations, resolve inventory discrepancies, and ensure paperwork accuracy.
• Re‑weigh OB DOX/WPX shipments, capture manual volumetrics for oversized pieces, and comply with Part 108 requirements.
• Prepare accurate AWBs, breakdowns for airlines, and validate missing documents via GIA.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under time‑critical conditions.
• Good understanding of customs procedures and global SOP compliance.
• Ability to handle documentation accurately and maintain inventory integrity.
