Financial Controller – Hospitality

About the role

The Financial Controller will lead all financial activities for a hospitality establishment in Pretoria. You will ensure accurate reporting, robust budgeting, and effective cost control to drive profitability and support operational success.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily financial operations, including cash flow, banking, and transaction processing.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Develop and manage operational budgets and financial forecasts.
• Monitor departmental expenditure, analyse financial data and advise management.
• Control food, beverage, labour and operational costs, and implement inventory procedures.
• Supervise accounts payable/receivable and payroll administration.
• Ensure compliance with tax laws, financial regulations and company policies.
• Prepare documentation for internal and external audits.
• Produce financial reports and presentations for senior management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Professional accounting qualification (e.g., SAICA, CIMA, ACCA) is advantageous.
• 5–7 years of experience in accounting or financial management, preferably in hospitality.
• Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting.
