Accountant – Financial Reporting & Treasury

About the role

We are seeking a qualified SAICA accountant to join our client’s finance team in Gauteng. This role focuses on financial reporting, treasury management, and supporting audit processes.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review annual financial statements and stakeholder reporting packs.
• Oversee treasury functions, ensuring effective cash flow and financial controls.
• Manage fixed assets and work‑in‑progress administration, maintaining compliance with accounting policies.
• Support internal and external statutory audits by preparing required documentation.
• Prepare, maintain, and reconcile financial accounts with accuracy.
• Assist with month‑end and year‑end closing, including journals, reconciliations, and reporting.
• Interpret and apply accounting standards, providing guidance to stakeholders.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) and BCom in Financial/Management Accounting (articles completed).
• CA(SA) qualification – essential.
• 1‑3 years post‑articles experience in finance or accounting.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, accounting standards, and corporate taxation.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Experience with JDE (advantage).
• Familiarity with Draftworx or Epicor (advantage).
• Knowledge of IFRS for SMEs and related regulations.
