Senior Accountant – Remote (Cape Town)

About the role

We are a fast‑growing remote startup delivering full‑stack finance solutions to UK e‑commerce and technology businesses. Based in Cape Town, South Africa, you will join a globally connected team across the UK, South Africa and the Philippines, starting with a hands‑on onboarding phase before taking ownership of a diverse portfolio of UK‑based clients.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare bookkeeping and management accounts for multiple clients.
• Support UK VAT returns, payroll processes and related compliance tasks.
• Assist with statutory accounts under FRS 102 and FRS 105.
• Prepare reconciliations, schedules and working papers.
• Respond to client queries with guidance from senior team members.
• Update project‑management tools daily to keep work visible and on track.
• Flag risks or issues early when something does not look right.
• Contribute to a collaborative, high‑performance remote culture.

Required profile

• Qualified Professional Accountant (SA), AGA (SA) or CIMA.
• 0‑2 years of post‑qualifying experience.
• Proficient in Xero and Microsoft Excel.
• Comfortable using AI tools to work faster and think smarter.
