Workshop Supervisor - Component Rebuild Centre

About the role

BIA Group sells, rents and provides after-sales services for equipment used in public works, mines, quarries and transport, operating across Europe, Africa and Asia. The Workshop Supervisor oversees component rebuild work and a team of Rebuild Technicians at the BIA Component Rebuild Centre of Kitwe and reports to the Component Rebuild Centre Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure component rebuild work meets Komatsu and BIA quality standards.
• Plan jobs with the Production Manager and manage the workshop workforce and equipment efficiently across a multi-shift schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends.
• Write detailed assessment and assembly reports for each workshop job.
• Maintain tools and equipment for maximum availability and ensure staff follow safe work practices.

Required profile

• At least 8 years' experience in a fully equipped REMAN workshop handling mining equipment components.
• Very good knowledge of mechanics and electricity, hands-on technician.
• In-depth knowledge of hydraulic and mechanical tools used in a REMAN workshop.
• In-depth knowledge of Komatsu 860, 930 and 960 truck components and Komatsu mining shovel components.
• Currently working for a Komatsu dealership in a similar position is an advantage.
• Good reporting in English and proven ability to work with machine workshop manuals.

Required skills

• Project management, coaching and development of others, and people management.
• Technical troubleshooting, quality control and HSE compliance.
• Good IT knowledge: Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• SAP knowledge is an asset.
