Vacation Work January 2027 - Actuarial & Insurance Solutions (AIS)

About the role

Deloitte's Actuarial & Insurance Solutions (AIS) team is running a one-week vacation work programme in January 2027 for students of Actuarial Science. The programme gives students work experience and the chance to develop skills on projects in life and general insurance, pensions and data analytics. It runs from 11 to 19 January 2027, with in-person attendance at the Waterfall office.

Key responsibilities

• Attend and take part in presentations on current topics in the actuarial industry
• Apply actuarial study knowledge to tasks that mimic real-world scenarios for a new actuary
• Complete an actuarial project with peers and present it to actuaries on the final day
• Use advanced mathematical and statistical techniques to solve complex actuarial problems
• Learn about practical AI in the workplace
• Maintain strict confidentiality and follow regulatory requirements and company policies

Required profile

• Student who has completed the third year (or equivalent) of Actuarial Science by the end of 2026 and intends to complete an Honours degree (or equivalent) in 2027
• Good written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills and a client delivery focus
• Adaptable, focused on quality and risk, with problem-solving ability and basic business acumen

• Experience drafting professional presentations and reports for review
• Proficiency in the MS Office suite
• Basic financial knowledge
