Manager - Q&R IFRS Technical

About the role

Deloitte Africa is looking for a Manager - Q&R IFRS Technical to provide technical support and focused interventions to its audit practice on IFRS accounting standards. The role covers research and resolution of IFRS questions, review of financial statements and development of practical guidance for auditors.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical support and focused interventions to the audit practice on IFRS accounting standards.
• Research and resolve IFRS application questions arising from complex transactions and financial reporting matters.
• Prepare and review technical accounting papers and consultation responses, including documentation and escalation.
• Review financial statements for compliance with accounting standards.
• Assess accounting developments and develop practical guidance and learning interventions for the audit practice.

Required profile

• Registered CA(SA).
• 3-5 years of working experience, of which 2 years in a management role is desired.
• Planning, prioritisation, ownership, integrity and objectivity, coaching and collaboration.

Required skills

• Applied knowledge of IFRS accounting standards, including analysis of complex transactions.
• Ability to research and interpret technical accounting requirements.
• Strong technical writing skills, including accounting memoranda and consultation responses.
• Familiarity with the MS Office suite and other technology related to the role.
