Technician

About the role

SBV Services is seeking a dedicated Technician to join its Mechanical Maintenance team in Kempton Park. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliable performance of all on‑site machinery through hands‑on repairs, preventive upkeep, and rapid fault resolution.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct repairs and routine maintenance on SBV machinery.
• Execute preventative maintenance plans and respond to equipment failures.
• Perform machine sensor analysis, fault diagnosis, and incident resolution.
• Carry out daily equipment inspections and early fault detection.
• Maintain an inventory of critical spare parts to minimise downtime.
• Prepare and submit daily and monthly performance reports, including uptime, downtime and maintenance activities.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Standards and support ESG reporting requirements.
• Act as a change champion, promoting company values and a performance‑driven culture.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years’ hands‑on experience as an on‑site technician supporting automated, electro‑mechanical or industrial equipment.
• Experience performing preventative and corrective maintenance according to OEM standards and site procedures.
• Prior exposure to cash processing, banking, manufacturing or other security‑controlled environments (advantageous).
• Relevant trade qualification (e.g., Millwright, Electrician, Fitter & Turner) or a National Diploma/NQF Level 5 in Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics engineering (advantageous).
• Technical certifications or OEM training on automated equipment (advantageous).
• Basic computer literacy (MS Office) for reporting and system updates.
