Machine Operator

About the role

Starke Ayres is seeking a diligent Machine Operator to join the Simulation Cleaning Room team in Kempton Park. You will be responsible for maintaining clean simulation samples and seed lots, ensuring equipment is ready for production and supporting overall plant hygiene.

Key responsibilities

• Clean simulation samples for quality‑control testing and maintain small‑ and medium‑seed lots.
• Record all cleaning activities and keep accurate logs of processed samples.
• Inspect and clean simulation machines before each shift; report any faults to the Cleaning Manager.
• Maintain a tidy, organised work environment and ensure all cleaning equipment is serviced regularly.
• Assist with bi‑annual stock‑take activities as required.
• Support colleagues by helping with tasks once primary duties are completed.
• Follow company policies, security procedures and health‑and‑safety guidelines at all times.

Required profile

• Grade 12 education (essential).
• At least 1 year experience as a general worker, preferably in a factory or machine‑operation setting.
• Familiarity with in‑house policies and basic computer applications.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy and ability to count and record data reliably.

• Basic computer skills.
