Technical Sales Representative – Modderfontein

About the role

A well‑established coatings manufacturer in Modderfontein is seeking a Technical Sales Representative to generate new business, sustain existing accounts and ensure customer satisfaction across Gauteng.

Key responsibilities

• Grow the business and achieve monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets.
• Increase product penetration and sales within the retail hardware market.
• Generate new accounts and reactivate inactive customers.
• Upsell and cross‑sell products to maximise revenue.
• Develop sales plans based on products, customer needs, geographic areas and channels.
• Build strong relationships with buyers, department heads, merchandisers and other key contacts.
• Conduct regular customer visits, monitor merchandising and provide feedback on stock and performance.
• Maintain accurate customer and sales information in the CRM system and submit daily call reports.

Required profile

• Proven sales ability with a strong track record of closing new business.
• Proactive, new‑business‑focused approach.
• Experience in retail, hardware, coatings or related industries is beneficial.
• Own reliable transport and preferably reside in the East Rand area.
• Fluent in Afrikaans and English with strong communication and negotiation skills.

What we offer

• Base salary of R14 500 per month.
• Car allowance of R4 000, fuel allowance of R3 678 and communication allowance of R400.
• Pension scheme and monthly commission (typical earnings R20 000–R50 000 per month).
• Six‑monthly performance bonus (negotiable based on skills and experience).
