Senior Sales Specialist - EPC Sales

About the role

HITACHI ENERGY SOUTH AFRICA is looking for a Sales Specialist Senior Professional for its EPC sales function, based in Modderfontein, Gauteng. The role involves calling on international and local EPCs, selling products, systems and services to customers and managing business strategies and EPC relationships within the assigned region.

Key responsibilities

• Call on international and local EPCs, travelling within Africa for the assigned regions of responsibility.
• Sell products, systems and services, focusing on volume, product mix and profitability targets for the assigned business units or product groups.
• Build and maintain customer relationships, explain the full product offering and ensure a positive customer experience.
• Work closely with country sales colleagues on business strategies and EPC relationships.
• Prepare sales plans, run regular status reviews and propose recovery plans for potential order shortfalls.
• Manage offers in coordination with the bid and proposal department and/or Marketing Manager, covering technical and financial aspects such as price and trading conditions.
• Identify new market opportunities, share know-how and collaborate across teams.
• Manage the CRM tool used to track projects and their lifecycle.
• Support collection and project management activities when needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electric or Electronic Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in customer relationship building, business development and sales in the power grids line of business.
• Proven track record of selling projects and products.
• Good understanding of the EPC landscape in Southern Africa.
• ECSA professional registration is desirable.
• Fluent spoken and written English.
