About the role
Our client in the oil and gas sector is looking for a Tax Specialist to join the corporate team on a one‑year fixed‑term basis. The role focuses on ensuring compliance with the Botswana Income Tax Act and delivering accurate tax services to support business units and projects.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain ongoing compliance with the Botswana Income Tax Act and related regulations.
- Provide tax advice and services to business units, aligning with their models and projects.
- Monitor legislative changes, assess impact, and recommend updates to internal procedures.
- Prepare and review tax filings, calculations, and supporting documentation.
- Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to ensure accurate tax reporting.
Required profile
- CA(SA) qualification or BCom with a postgraduate or higher diploma in Tax.
- 1–3 years of experience in a petro‑chemical, manufacturing, or corporate environment.
- Demonstrated experience with direct taxes.
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact at all organisational levels.
Required skills
- SAP
- MS Excel (advanced)
- IFRS accounting principles
