Tax Manager – Corporate & Advisory

About the role

We are seeking a technically strong and motivated Tax Manager to join a specialist tax firm in Greenstone Hill. The role involves delivering complex tax compliance and advisory services for a diverse client base, including corporate groups, SMEs, and cross‑border structures.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and review corporate, trust and individual tax returns (ITR14, ITR12, ITR12T).
• Prepare provisional tax calculations (IRP6) and perform reconciliations.
• Oversee VAT, PAYE and dividend tax compliance (VAT201, EMP201/501, DTR01/DTR02).
• Handle SARS registrations, submissions and correspondence.
• Advise on corporate restructures, group relief, Section 45 transactions and tax residency cessations.
• Draft technical tax opinions, apply double‑taxation agreements and support cross‑border planning.
• Act as primary client contact, manage deadlines and mentor junior staff.

Required profile

• BCom Accounting or BCom Taxation (essential); postgraduate tax qualification advantageous.
• 2–5 years post‑articles experience in tax compliance and advisory.
• SAIT membership or working towards TP(SA) preferred.
• High level of technical accuracy, strong communication skills and professional integrity.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of South African tax legislation (Income Tax, VAT, Tax Administration Act).
• Experience with SARS eFiling and submissions.
• Exposure to cross‑border taxation and double tax agreements.
• Familiarity with IFRS and estate tax concepts (advantageous).
