Consultant – Accounting & Reporting Assurance (Public Sector)

About the role

As a Consultant in Accounting & Reporting Assurance you will work remotely from South Africa, supporting public‑sector clients to deliver transparent, accountable and trustworthy financial reporting. You will join a dynamic, international team that bridges Dutch public‑sector requirements with African talent.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and analyse complex financial statements for public‑sector entities.
• Support subsidy and grant assurance engagements, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
• Develop and enhance reporting processes that influence key public‑sector decisions.
• Collaborate virtually with Deloitte colleagues in the Netherlands and other African offices.
• Gain exposure to Dutch public‑sector standards while working from South Africa.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Auditing, Economics or related field.
• CA(SA) qualification or progress towards it is highly preferred.
• 2–6 years of experience in accounting, audit, assurance or financial advisory.
• Experience with subsidy and grant assurance engagements and financial data analysis.
• Fluent professional proficiency in English; native or professional proficiency in Afrikaans.
