Systems Administrator – Financial Markets Critical Systems

About the role

The Central Bank of Lesotho is looking for a Systems Administrator to manage and support its Financial Markets Critical Systems. The role involves ensuring the efficient and secure operation of systems such as the Central Securities Depository, SWIFT, Calypso Treasury Management System, and Bloomberg Terminal.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑level technical support for Financial Markets critical systems.
• Manage user accounts, profiles, and system access permissions.
• Perform health checks and monitor performance of all critical systems.
• Investigate and resolve first‑level issues related to the Investor Portal, CSD, Calypso, and Bloomberg.
• Log support requests and follow up on issue resolution.
• Configure product definitions in Calypso, Bloomberg, and CSD.
• Respond to system output queries and user requests.
• Update and maintain system static data, including holiday calendars and scheduled tasks.
• Monitor and manage daily scheduled tasks within Calypso.
• Conduct periodic reviews of user profiles and access rights.
• Gather user requirements and coordinate system change requests.
• Coordinate system projects, updates, and upgrades with the ICT Department.
• Provide support to Investor Portal users and respond to client enquiries.
• Ensure compliance with system rules, standards, and operational procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Commerce, or Information Systems, OR a Chartered Accountant qualification or equivalent professional qualification.
• Problem‑solving skills with strong analytical ability and attention to detail.
• Effective time management and good communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team.

Required skills

• Experience with Calypso Treasury Management System.
• Proficiency in using Bloomberg Terminal.
• Knowledge of SWIFT messaging and operations.
• Familiarity with Central Securities Depository (CSD) systems.
