IT Specialist – Hotel Operations

About the role

Blue Mountain Inn is looking for a proactive IT Specialist to deliver reliable technology support across its hotel operations. The role involves maintaining the network, hardware, and software that keep the property running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑line technical support to staff, diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues.
• Install, configure, maintain and troubleshoot computers, printers, network devices and other IT equipment.
• Monitor and manage the hotel’s network infrastructure, internet connectivity and system performance.
• Support core hotel applications such as Property Management Systems (PMS), Point‑of‑Sale (POS) and payroll/HR platforms.
• Administer user accounts, access permissions, backups and basic cybersecurity measures.
• Maintain accurate records of IT assets, equipment and maintenance activities.
• Train employees on proper use of IT systems and liaise with external service providers when needed.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field.
• 2–3 years of hands‑on IT support experience, preferably in a hospitality environment.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with good communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, under pressure and respond quickly to urgent issues.

Required skills

• Computer hardware installation, configuration and troubleshooting.
• Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office suite.
• Network administration and troubleshooting.
• Database fundamentals and familiarity with hotel management/POS systems.
• Basic cybersecurity practices, data protection and backup procedures.
