Supply Chain Manager - 12 Month Contract

About the role

Deloitte is hiring a Supply Chain Manager for a 12-month contract in Durban, within its Internal Audit practice. The main purpose of the job is to support the Senior Manager in delivering services to and at client premises on delegated engagements or projects, focusing on the management and delivery of client engagements, sales and practice development, and developing high-performing people and teams.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and manage internal audits, working with client business and functional leaders to identify audit areas, owners and processes based on relative risk, and plan the audit cycle accordingly.
• Synthesize audit results into prioritized, action-oriented recommendations and escalate them to client stakeholders in a timely way.
• Leverage frameworks such as COSO to design internal audit standard operating procedures.
• Lead teams to establish, develop and improve internal audit functions, assess them against IIA Standards and guide implementation of recommendations.
• Review systems and processes to recommend improvements to how clients manage operational risk.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accounting, Auditing, Internal Auditing or Supply Chain Management, plus a postgraduate or honours qualification in a related field.
• 6+ years of relevant experience in Internal Audit (which can include 3 years of external audit articles).
• 3 years of public sector or government audit experience.
• 2-3 years' experience in a managerial role.
• Preferred certifications: CA (SA), CIA, CIPS or AGA.
• Advantageous: proficiency in TeamMate, and strong public sector experience and understanding of SCM regulations and the PFMA.

Required skills

• Expert knowledge of accounting, auditing or supply chain management.
• Mastery of IIA or related internal audit methodology with practical experience designing solutions for complex client requests.
• Ability to identify risks and test controls, and to recommend corrective measures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, mentoring and coaching, and strong problem-solving skills.
