Finance Clerk / Bookkeeper

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Finance Clerk/Bookkeeper to support a well‑established professional services firm. The role is based in Durban North and requires prior experience within a law firm, focusing on trust accounting and financial administration in a legal environment.

Key responsibilities

• Process and receipt trust bank transactions and perform daily/month‑end reconciliations.
• Manage investment‑related banking activities, including opening/closing investments and month‑end journals.
• Execute payments via online banking platforms and maintain accurate disbursement records.
• Assist with book debt management, credit control, and general finance administration.
• Support month‑end financial processes, reconciliations, and maintain supporting documentation.

Required profile

• Previous experience working in a law firm (essential).
• Accounting qualification or equivalent.
• Strong attention to detail and high accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
• Experience with online banking platforms.
