Supervisor: Water, Sanitation, Roads, Stormwater (Calvinia)

About the role

The Supervisor will drive municipal trucks and tractors, oversee maintenance and cleaning of municipal grounds, public areas, roads, sanitation plants and rubbish dumps, and manage the collection and removal of refuse and sanitation waste. The role also includes supervising personnel, ensuring vehicle upkeep, and guaranteeing compliance with health and safety regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and control the activities of personnel and related tasks.
• Ensure all municipal vehicles are well maintained.
• Oversee operational maintenance, refuse removal, sanitation/sewerage, water, roads and stormwater services.
• Maintain health and safety compliance with statutory regulations.
• Continuously improve staff skills, performance and knowledge.
• Participate in the municipality’s performance management and development system.

Required profile

• Grade 9 or equivalent technical qualification.
• Valid Driver’s Licence Code C.
• Completion of a PDP (Professional Development Programme).
• 1‑2 years of relevant experience in municipal services.

What we offer

• Post Level T7 notch 1 salary of R197 040 per annum.
