Structured Solutions Sales Specialist

About the role

Absa's Corporate and Investment Bank is seeking a senior sales professional to join the Index and Structured Solutions Distribution team in Sandton. The role focuses on driving growth, expanding market share and managing relationships with independent financial advisers, brokers and wealth management firms.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute coverage plans for IFAs, brokers, wealth managers and retail distributors, prioritising high‑potential clients.
• Identify, qualify and convert sales opportunities across structured notes, fund‑linked solutions and bespoke products, managing the full sales cycle.
• Maintain a detailed sales pipeline, provide forecasts and reports to stakeholders.
• Negotiate commercial terms within approved mandates and collaborate with structuring, pricing and execution teams.
• Build senior‑level relationships with intermediaries, deliver product education, market insights and support query resolution.
• Work with product development to translate client requirements into viable solutions and lead activation of new products.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of investment banking products, especially collective investment schemes and structured products.
• Proven experience distributing structured solutions within a Corporate & Investment Banking environment.
• Ability to manage a portfolio of listed and OTC investment products and navigate complex client needs.
• Experience with South African regulatory landscape and financial services qualifications (e.g., CFA) is advantageous.

• Deep knowledge of the investment product lifecycle from concept to expiry.
• Excellent relationship‑building and client‑management capabilities across institutional and retail intermediaries.
• Strong analytical abilities to assess product suitability and commercial viability.
