Strategy and Enablement Manager - Transactional Banking SA

About the role

Absa is looking for a strategic and analytical professional to join its Transactional Banking division in South Africa as Strategy and Enablement Manager, based in Sandton. The role partners with senior leadership to steer the strategic and operational direction of Transactional Banking South Africa, turning high-level strategy into execution plans, tracking progress and spotting risks and opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Translate strategy into execution plans, track progress and coordinate the delivery of key strategic initiatives in line with business objectives
• Manage business performance dashboards and management information systems, and analyse business and sales performance trends to generate actionable insights
• Prepare executive presentations, strategic updates and management reports, and coordinate governance forums, leadership meetings and executive committee sessions
• Maintain accountability for business commitments, actions and decisions so that agreed items are delivered
• Drive initiatives that improve business productivity and efficiency, refine reporting mechanisms and optimise processes
• Build relationships with stakeholders across Sales, Product, Coverage, Finance, Human Capital and other support functions, acting as a central coordination point for cross-functional work

Required profile

• Strong foundation in finance, business management or strategy, usually backed by a relevant degree
• CA(SA) qualification highly regarded, given the emphasis on financial acumen and reporting
• Typically 5-8 years of experience in strategic planning, business performance management and executive support
