Credit Controller

About the role

A reputable fintech client is looking for a Credit Controller to join its team in Sandton, Johannesburg. The role is hybrid and aims to make sure the company gets paid on time, manages credit risk effectively and keeps healthy cash flow while protecting customer relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure credit policies and procedures are followed
• Perform credit checks on new and existing customers and create customer accounts within the agreed SLA
• Collect payments efficiently and on time, following performance-driven KPIs
• Follow up overdue accounts, capture payments to the right account and apply them according to customer remittances
• Distribute statements and invoices, meet customers to arrange payment plans and send demand letters to overdue customers
• Hold overdue accounts, hand over bad debts and present risk customers to the risk committee bi-weekly
• Resolve customer queries and close tickets on the ZOHO desk, and communicate with internal departments
• Reconcile debtor accounts, submit and follow up on debit orders, and prepare weekly and month-end age analysis reports
• Process refunds and adjustment journals, keep customer master data accurate, attend audit samples and handle unpaid debit orders

Required profile

• At least a degree or national diploma in Credit Management or Accounting
• Strong experience collecting outstanding debts professionally and within agreed timelines
• Good understanding of the order-to-cash process

Required skills

• Microsoft Dynamics (advantage)
• Sage300/Accpac (advantage)
• Advanced Excel and MS Office
• Strong reconciliation skills and accounts receivable reporting and analysis
• Knowledge of credit management policies and procedures; familiarity with automation tools (advantage)
