Staff Nurse / Professional Nurse – Phlebotomy

About the role

PathCare is looking for a Staff Nurse or Professional Nurse to join its Tokai branch in Cape Town. The employer seeks someone with a proven record of competence in phlebotomy, a high level of ethics and integrity, and alignment with PathCare's values.

Required profile

• Nursing diploma or degree, or Enrolled Nurse Certificate, and registration with SANC
• Valid Code B driver's licence (manual transmission)
• Fluent English with an understanding of Afrikaans
• Acceptable track record in the technical and behavioural competencies needed for the post
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends and public holidays

Required skills

• Phlebotomy experience is essential
• Pathology experience is highly advantageous, including order of draw and running of point-of-care instruments such as Hemocue and Stratus, and arterial blood gas analysis
• Meditech knowledge is an advantage
