About the role

An established optometry practice in Kenilworth, Cape Town, is seeking a dedicated, patient-focused Optometrist. It suits a recently qualified professional or someone with 1-2 years of experience who wants to develop clinical expertise while delivering high-quality vision care. Working hours are Monday to Saturday, about 08:00-17:00 or 17:30, with days off to be confirmed.

Key responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive eye examinations and vision tests
• Diagnose and manage ocular conditions, prescribing treatments or making referrals
• Advise patients on eyewear, lens options and contact lenses
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals for holistic patient care
• Stay current with advances in optometry

Required profile

• Recognised Optometry qualification and valid HPCSA registration
• 1-2 years of optometry experience (the listing also shows 1-3 years)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Professional, patient-centred approach and strong attention to detail

What we offer

• Salary of approximately R35,000 per month, negotiable depending on experience
