Spray Painter Trade Test Centre Moderator

About the role

AIDC, a government-owned public entity supporting the South African automotive industry, is recruiting a Trade Test Centre Moderator for the Spray Painter trade in its Skills Development and Training department. The post is on a three-year fixed-term contract with a three-month probation, reporting directly to the Department Manager: Skills Development & Training. The location is the Supplier Park offices in Rosslyn and the Satellite Site.

Key responsibilities

• Moderate assessments conducted at the Trade Test Centre and occasionally conduct assessments at the Learning Centre
• Ensure evidence of the full assessment process, including planning, preparation, execution, recording and review, judged by the VACCS criteria
• Plan and carry out moderation of assessment guides against unit standards and qualifications, giving constructive written feedback to assessors
• Report irregularities, suspected fraud or barriers to assessors to the TTC Manager
• Carry out ad-hoc assessments at the Learning Centre, including re-assessments of learners who are not yet competent
• Complete assessment forms, prepare reports for the ETQA Manager, NAMB and QCTO, and contribute to monthly and quarterly reports

Required profile

• Spray Painter Trade Test Certificate or Red Seal Certificate in Spray Painting
• Moderator certificate
• Minimum 4 years' work experience as a Spray Painter; 2 years as a moderator is advantageous
• NAMB moderator registration is advantageous
