Intermediate Phase Grade 6 Teacher (English, Home Language, Social Sciences)

About the role

Boston Primary School in Cape Town is looking for a suitably qualified Intermediate Phase teacher for Grade 6, covering English, Home Language and Social Sciences (History). The school wants someone who can plan, teach and assess within the CAPS curriculum and work in a multi-cultural environment.

Required profile

• Professional Intermediate Phase teaching qualification, B.Ed or bachelor's degree from a recognised South African institution.
• SACE certification or registration.
• Police clearance.
• Driver's licence required; PDP advantageous.
• Proven experience planning, teaching and assessing within the CAPS curriculum, including target setting and intervention strategies.
• Willingness to work after hours and on weekends when required, and to take part in workshops, courses, school functions, excursions and fundraising.

Required skills

• Proficiency in English and Afrikaans, written and spoken.
• Use of eLearning in the classroom and platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom and Google Meet.
• Record keeping, organisation, time management and good communication skills.
