GALC Facilitator/Assessor - Mechatronics

About the role

AIDC, a government-owned public entity supporting the South African automotive industry, is recruiting a GALC Facilitator/Assessor for Mechatronics in the Skills Development and Training Department. The post is based at the Supplier Park offices in Rosslyn and Satellite Sites, Gauteng, and reports directly to the Department Manager: Skills Development & Training. It is a three-year fixed-term contract with a three-month probation period.

Key responsibilities

• Plan facilitation and programme implementation, allocate technical skills facilitators and assessors, and liaise with the Training Operations Coordinator on classroom and workshop logistics.
• Conduct facilitation using various methodologies, ensure the ETD QMS is implemented, analyse technical training needs and advise on the effectiveness of technical programmes.
• Assess learners using AIDC's technical equipment, capture results, complete assessment documentation and give objective feedback, including mentoring candidates.
• Maintain training materials, facilities and equipment where required.
• Manage subordinates, conduct performance planning and reviews, and track performance.
• Evaluate training events and programmes, record evaluations, and prepare inputs for monthly and quarterly reports.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) and NQF Level 6 in Mechatronics.
• 4 years' plus of related automotive or manufacturing experience.
• Facilitation experience.
• An assessor certificate and registration with a relevant Quality Council (SETA, NAMB or QCTO) are advantageous.

Required skills

• Industrial automation and robotics.
• PLC programming (e.g. Siemens or Festo).
• Hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
