Specialist Technician – Medical Equipment (Band 4)

About the role
The Medical Equipment Management Service (MEMS) at NHS Grampian is seeking a Band 4 Specialist Technician to join a dedicated team of 15 technicians. You will support the safe operation of patient moving and handling equipment across clinical areas throughout the Grampian region.
Key responsibilities
- Service, maintain and manage beds, hoists, trolleys and air‑mattress systems.
- Provide technical support to critical care and other clinical areas across Aberdeen Royal Infirmary and other Health Board sites.
- Diagnose faults, carry out repairs and ensure equipment complies with safety standards.
- Document maintenance activities and contribute to equipment inventory management.
Required profile
- Experience in electrical and/or mechanical engineering.
- Post‑qualification technical training and proven experience supporting a range of medical equipment.
- High personal integrity, strong people skills and ability to work effectively within a small team.
- Valid driving licence for travel between sites.
