Senior Staff Nurse – Ward 309 (Gynaecology & Oncology)

About the role

The Senior Staff Nurse will join Ward 309, an 18‑bed acute surgical ward delivering specialist care in gynaecology, breast surgery and gynaecological oncology. This permanent position offers a supportive multidisciplinary environment where clinical leadership and specialist nursing practice are central.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality nursing care to patients undergoing gynaecological, breast and oncology procedures.
• Lead and mentor junior nursing staff, promoting best practice and safe patient care.
• Coordinate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure compliance with NHS policies.
• Participate in ward audits, quality improvement projects and continuing professional development.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (Band 5/6) with recent experience in an acute NHS setting.
• Demonstrated clinical leadership abilities.
• Commitment to delivering high standards of patient care in a specialist surgical environment.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
