Specialist Sales Field Technical

About the role

A vacancy reporting to the Regional Technical Manager exists in the Technical Services Department, part of the Customer First Division, at Toyota South Africa Motors in Sandton. The role supports dealers and fleet owners with technical advice, warranty compliance and product feedback.

Key responsibilities

• Encourage dealer support of EDER (Early Detection Early Resolution) processes and principles
• Gather and analyse product problem information and data, and submit Techshare reports and Product Feedback Reports
• Assist dealers with technical and customer queries
• Ensure dealers comply with warranty rules to avoid redebits and rejections
• Manage the policy budget for out-of-warranty work on known technical problems and ensure it is followed
• Manage special service campaigns and recalls to meet company targets
• Assist the Customer Call Centre with complaint resolution
• Carry out regular scheduled dealer and fleet owner visits
• Maintain job-related administration and records

Required profile

• NQF Level 6 (minimum 360 credits on the level 8 framework) Technical Diploma or similar, with a trade qualification passed in theory and practice
• Experience as a qualified automotive technician
• Advantageous: diagnostic fault finding, electrical and electronic fault tracing and repair; five years of technical experience on Lexus and Toyota models
• Advantageous: experience in the technical and retail motor industry
• Willingness to travel
