Spa Supervisor – Luxury Lodge

About the role

The Spa Supervisor will lead the day‑to‑day operations of the spa at Sabi Sabi Earth Lodge, delivering exceptional guest experiences while supporting the Spa Manager. This role combines hands‑on therapeutic work with team leadership in a multicultural, luxury environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and motivate the spa team, ensuring high standards of service and adherence to Amani protocols.
• Perform professional massage, facial and body treatments, and provide home‑care recommendations.
• Maintain operational excellence, including inventory control, financial reporting, and retail sales targets (minimum 15% of turnover).
• Act as the primary point of contact in the Spa Manager’s absence, overseeing scheduling, guest relations, and daily operations.
• Promote a healthy, balanced workplace culture and uphold the brand’s wellness philosophy.

Required profile

• Qualified Spa Therapist with a nationally recognised diploma (minimum two‑year course).
• Previous experience in a similar supervisory role, preferably within a luxury lodge or resort.
• Strong verbal communication skills in English and a customer‑focused mindset.
• Self‑motivated, revenue‑driven and committed to personal and professional growth.

Required skills

• Proficiency with spa management software (ChiDesk is advantageous).
• Competent use of MS Office, especially Outlook and Excel.
• Basic understanding of financial reports and retail performance metrics.

What we offer

• Basic salary of R8 000 plus 10% commission on services and up to 15% on retail, with average earnings around R19 000 per month.
• Single live‑in accommodation with daily staff meals.
• Work cycle of 6 weeks on, 2 weeks off (or equivalent 1 day off per 3 days worked).
